Persia's Doghouse
A Brief History
I first want to thank Elista Adkins for allowing me to keep Persia for her until she returns to the fandom. Persia is an Afghan female dog who appeared briefly on the orginial Road Rover series as the leader of the Space Rovers. The WB simply gave her a name, but no background or history, so I 'gave' her one. She was born near Glasgow, Scotland. When she was only a few weeks old, she and her other siblings were placed in a canvass sack and tossed into a river. Persia was the only one who survived, she was found by an elderly couple and raised in their country home. Persia met a neighbor's dog, a Scottish Terrier named Alexander. They became fast friends, Alex was the father and mentor she never had as a puppy. A year later, Persia's masters were killed in a car accident. A short time later, the Master called both Persia and Alexander to become Road Rovers.

Perisa as a Space Rover

Persia and Alexander were immediately assigned to the Space Rovers. She took command of the 'Space Rover', a space ship shaped like a huge dog. There she meet her original bridge crew, navigator Saundra (a cocker spaniel) and helmsman Boomer (a greyhound). Persia served on a number of missions before resigning in anger.

Her new mission!

The Master called Persia out of retirement and offered her the command of a new space vessel, the Canius Minor, which was meant for deep space exploration and travel. Hesitant at first, she later agreed to the new assignment when she was reunited with Alexander, Saundra and Boomer. At first, Persia had her doubts about her new crew, many were green Cadets and 'problem children' from the RR Academy. As time passed, under her skilled leadership, this 'pack' of Road Rovers became a real 'family.' Read about the Space Rovers new adventures here, on this website!
